Skiing

My Experience with Teaching Kids

I have been a ski coach for three years now and am loving it. I have had about ten stuents and most are young kids. I love watching them get better every year and how much they have grown. Being ski coach for kids has taught me patiance and how to work with people who have different minds than me. When I first started teaching, it was difficult because I didn't know how I would communicate with kids so much younger than me. One thing I learned was that everybody learns differently, one technique of teaching won't work for everybody and I need to cater to everybodys individual needs. Something else I learned from the kids was to always keep your head high. Even after a bad fall or a long day, kids won't give up. They are not afraid to try new things, which I find inspiring. Before deciding to become a ski coach, I never knew that they could teach me so much.
